How it all started
The idea for Zizo came about when I was in severe depression, unsure of what to do next in my career, and feeling more disconnected from the world than ever before. Each day was marked by self-doubt, and the future seemed impossibly distant. That’s when I started leaning into a newly discovered passion: modern board gaming. I found solace in the stories and laughter shared around the tabletop, a stark contrast to the lonely silence of my own thoughts. Witnessing how these gatherings provided a safe space to unwind, learn, and grow, I realized that board games had the power to connect people on a deeply human level. It struck me that if a simple game could brighten even my darkest days, it could do the same for others all over the world. And so, what began as a personal source of comfort transformed into a global mission to help others find meaningful connections, rediscover joy, and build supportive communities—one board game at a time.
